ARRIVALSWe encourage you to arrive between 3PM and 3:30PM so everyone has time to check their coats, pick up a program, meet and mingle with other guests, and maybe even have a drink before the ceremony starts at 4:15PM. PARKING AND RIDESHARERide-sharing is encouraged. You can rockstar to the address 6310 Tompkins Way for a drop off. Remember there is no parking available at house. If you want a backup plan to Uber or Lyft, you may want to sign up for “Waymo” which now offers driverless taxi service in our area. For those parking, we suggest Jefferson Boulevard near Hetzler Road. Greg will be driving our 12 person van shuttle up Hetzler Road starting at 2:45PM from Jefferson Blvd. It’s pickup place is at the entrance to Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook State Park. The shuttle will also run from 8PM till 11:30. For your safety, use crosswalks if crossing Jefferson Boulevard. WEATHERCulver City forecast is between 61° and 75° so you’ll want to have something warm, especially after sunset at 6:30PM. SHOESEasy to walk in shoes are recommended. The wedding is mostly outside so you’ll want shoes that are comfortable on decomposed granite walkways. Chris will be wearing sneakers (just saying). WEDDING DRESS CODESemi-formal/cocktail. Be sure to bring a coat if it gets cool. For those staying for the “Club Fez" after-party, a costume change is totally optional. A few ideas below or click back to the Club Fez RSVP page or Club Fez Mystical Ritual event page. COAT CHECKCoat-check will be open when you arrive and stay open til 10PM (at which point it will switch to self-serve). We can’t be responsible for valuables, so please keep those with you. CEREMONY/SEAT REQUESTSOur Ceremony will start around 4:15PM in our courtyard and last about 20 minutes. To accommodate everyone, most guests will be standing but we will have about 30 seats for those who need or request it. Please email our wedding planner, Rebecca Blake and we’ll do our best to accommodate. USHERS ARE YOUR FRIENDSUshers and Volunteers are wearing gold ribbons or boutonnières, and they will help guide you through different parts of the wedding as they unfold. Please follow their guidance. The interior of house opens at 9PM. Your program will have a map with locations of restrooms. RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODWe share our cul-de-sac with our neighbors. Please be mindful of our neighbors and after 10PM keep voices down while on Tompkins Way. PHOTOGRAPHY3 friends (Onyay, John, and Brad) are handling professional photography and videography for us (and we’ll send you links eventually). Please refrain from photos during the ceremony. You are welcome to take your own photos the rest of the time but don’t post to public social media without checking with us first. DINNERDinner starts around 5PM on long tables and will be served family style. We have name cards and seats for everyone. Ask about your table when you check-in. Our caterers will have all menu items and ingredients listed with options for vegetarian, gluten-free, and other dietary preferences/restrictions. DANCINGYes, with DJ Moni Vargas :-)) AFTER-PARTYAt about 8:30PM, we will begin our transition to "Club Fez presents 'Mystical Ritual'". The interior of the house will open (except family areas), linking together indoor and outdoor spaces. Many friends will be joining us who weren’t with us during the wedding. Your wedding outfit is fine or feel free to make a costume change (the powder room or the Airstream can offer you more privacy) befitting our ‘wild/ enchanting' bohemian theme. Our Club Fez parties are mostly all-volunteer so ask anyone wearing a gold volunteer ribbon if you have any concerns, questions, or can help out. (Please don’t ask Chris and Wendy). Please RSVP at clubfez.com if you haven’t already to keep updated. Coat check goes into self-serve mode at 10PM and shuttle down Hetzler Road runs till 11:30.
Travel
Culver Hotel
Pali Hotel
We recommend flying into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). For those of you coming in from out of town, we recommend staying at The Culver Hotel, located about a mile away from our house. The hotel offered our guests a 15% off group discount code (CAT15) when they make reservations online. The Culver celebrates its 100th year this September and is located adjacent to a new walking plaza “The Culver Steps" with coffee and bagel shops, cafes, restaurants, and a grocery store in the midst of downtown Culver City.https://www.culverhotel.com/ An additional option is The Pali Hotel, which is located a few steps away from The Culver Hotel. You can book a room at the Pali Hotel using our wedding rate code (MYSTICALRITUAL) by using the button below.
There are many other Airbnbs and hotels options located close by as well.

Can I bring a date or children? We love everyone but have limited space availability. Please check with us. How should I get there?Rideshare to our home (the venue) is highly recommended - please be sure to arrive between 3-3:30pm. We have arranged a shuttle for those parking on Jefferson Boulevard (about 500 yards down the hill from our house). The shuttle will run from 2:45-11pm from the roundabout at the entrance to Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook State Park. This is just at start of Hetzler Road off of Jefferson Blvd and it will make return trips to the house. Please, no parking at the house, on Tompkins Way, or on Hetzler Road. What will the weather be like?Temperature-wise, late October tends to be warm and pleasant in Los Angeles, averaging in the 70s in the daytime, and dipping to 60 at night. That being said, if you plan on staying for the after-party into late night, please bring a coat! We recommend checking the weather forecast in Culver City in the days before the event. What should I wear?Cocktail attire is ideal. Festive and fun, fancy or simple. Feel free to be creative. We want you to be comfortable. What's the venue like?Marrakesh House is an eco-friendly remodel of a mid-century modern home showcasing art and renewable energy on a hillside in Culver City. It is also a home for our four year old son Everett, chickens and plants. Is the wedding indoors or outdoors? Most of the wedding will take place outdoors on our grounds. Portions of the interior of the house will open at 9pm for those of you staying for Club Fez. (Please RSVP separately for this at ClubFez.com) If I'm coming in from out of town, where should I stay? Please see the travel section of this website for more information. PhotosYes they are welcome, but please no photos during the ceremony as we'd prefer everyone to be very present during that time. There will be plenty of chances to take photos before and after! What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?Shoes with delicate heels strongly not recommended due to uneven slate floors and decomposed granite in our yard. Flats are best; wedges or platforms may be ok. Please wear something comfortable so your feet will be happy for the event, especially if you may be walking up & down Hetzler Road to & from the venue. Is there a smoking area?If you choose to smoke cigarettes, please only do so on the cul de sac on the street in front of our house. A little blue covered ashtray will be available on the pillar by our mailbox. What time will the reception end?9pm. Is there a gifts registry?Yes! It's on this site. We have a few donation options listed. Will the wedding or reception be live streamed? No. What is Club-Fez "Mystical Ritual"?Club Fez is the name we use for special parties at Marrakesh House. In this case for an after-party immediately after our reception designed for more of our local friends since space is limited at the wedding.Club Fez will start as some guests depart and others arrive in the 9 o'clock hour. If you wish to attend, please RSVP separately at clubfez.com (also by September 12th) so we can get an accurate headcount. Club Fez is 21 and over only. Ceremony NoteFor our brief ceremony we hope everyone will help us create a quiet sacred space. It will happen in our home’s courtyard with mostly standing room and only few seats for those who really need it (please let us know in advance). We’ll also have overflow space (with seating) in nearby area. Please no photographs or videos for this part of the wedding so everyone can be very present and enjoy the moment with us. (We will have a professional photographer.) Whom should I contact with questions? Please email us at chris@papercutfilms.com or wktahara@gmail.com.
